GET THE LOOK: Take your half-up hairstyle to new heights like Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce did. To get the look, celebrity stylist Kiyah Wright from Warren-Tricomi Los Angeles suggests these steps: "Tease the hair up at the root, then pin the section above the ear at the back with bobby pins. Spritz on Redken’s Quick Dry 18 Instant Finishing Spray to hold the hair in place. Use a quarter-size curling iron to curl the loose hair at the back. And finish by teasing the hair to individual liking."
INSIDER TRICK: "This style typically works better for women with a fuller face. If you have a more elongated face like Sarah Jessica Parker, it’s best to watch how high you take the hair," adds Wright.

http://www.instyle.com/instyle/dailybeautyflash/photos/0,,20543870,00.html

GET THE LOOK: French braids are no longer for schoolgirls. The grown-up version that Nicole Richie wore keeps layered pieces neatly in check while the sophisticated bun in the back (where the two braids come together) finishes the elegant updo simply and stylishly.
INSIDER TRICK: When created too tightly, hairline braids can look severe or harsh. Nicole’s braid is loose and easily blends in to the rest of her hair, because her hairstylist wove tiny strands together along her scalp.
